I’m always curious to hear the opinions of guys when it comes to dating. In my last guest blog post, I asked the amazing, hilarious and insightful dating bloggers Jack From Brooklyn, Fishy, The Urban Dater, and Jeffrey Platts what turns them on and off when it comes to women.
They had a lot to say, some of it really surprising…
Books/ movies like “He’s Just Not That Into You” which aim at letting women know what men are thinking have been some favorites of mine, too. But then there are books like The Game which make me throw up in my mouth a little. There’s a lot of advice out there, so sometimes it’s hard to separate the good from the potentially detrimental (like The Rating Game book). Because I do listen to advice. I’m a self-improvement kind of girl.
I was recently sent a link to a new web video series called “What would men say?” so of course, I took the bait. I have to say, the men who participated were quite insightful. I wasn’t too impressed with the way the questions were asked (“What do you think about women’s bodies?”…I mean, that’s more than a little vague…they probably would have said “well, we have sex with them” if the cameras weren’t on), but these guys were all unique and surprising in the end. Except one of them did mention the “cottage cheese thighs” which made me cringe. Some were married, some single. And it’s not like they were all gathered from a bar one night after a few rounds of beer. They were sincere and thoughtful about what they said, and pretty honest.
The first 2 episodes were about what men think of women’s bodies…and honestly, it seems they spend WAY less time obsessing then we do. In fact, they say a woman’s confidence and acceptance of her body is a lot more attractive than a thin pretty girl who is constantly concerned about how she looks. If she owns her sex appeal, it is very attractive to men. Nice!
Anyway, check out the video and let me know what you think. If you want to share a related link or insight yourself, please feel free.
