Last Saturday I was standing in front of my mirror examining the new pants I bought that made me look like I’d lost ten pounds, when I realized something was amiss. I was supposed to go to a party and suddenly I felt like a wreck, when just five minutes before I was feeling pretty hot. What changed? Well, as usual, it was my hair. Specifically, the hair products I hadn’t used. (Sorry Trader Joe’s shampoo…)
I’m not complaining about my hair. Actually, I like it a lot – it’s thick and long and soft. The problem is, it only looks thick and long and soft when I condition, blow-dry, straighten, and oil it. Otherwise it looks like I’ve stuck my finger in a light socket, fried and frizzy. Seriously, people notice. My friend did a double-take when she saw me a week ago, asking, “what happened to you?” like I’d been in a fight or something, when I just hadn’t conditioned and blown my hair out that day.
I think we can all relate – you want to look good. Hot. This is especially true when you’re dating – not just to attract people to you, but to feel really good about yourself. And that means having good hair. The kind of hair that would turn a guy on, or at least make him fantasize about running his hands through it as he tries to focus on your conversation.
Because I’m obsessive about the hair, I’m a sucker for new hair products. But I have good reasons. First, I’m ashamed of the stray gray hairs that have infiltrated my scalp lately, and second, my hair is so dry that it moves in one piece if I don’t condition. And not all conditioners are the same, folks.
So, I’m pleased to announce this awesome promotion by Folica.com, just in time for the holiday season. From November 23rd to January 1st, everyone can cross great hair off their wish lists when they enter to win a credit for hair products at Folica. That’s right. Everyone has a chance to win up to $50 to spend on hair styling products in November and December. One in every 100 wins a $50 credit to spend instantly on hair care.
Folica offers over 60,000 great hair products, with more than 300 brands and over 70,000 customer ratings and reviews so you can get the scoop on products before you purchase. It’s a one-stop shop, which is good because I don’t want to drive around and stand in long lines this holiday season when I can order anything from my laptop, all from one place.
I found this awesome product to protect my hair when I straighten..
And this one to help with the stray gray issue (although I’m in denial). But how cool is this – a pen so you can just touch up and go without all the dye and fuss?? I’m in:
I’m so excited to check out all the other great hair products – happy shopping!
