Since we’re coming up on the 4th of July, I thought I’d give a little love to all of you fierce people who claim and cherish your independence. We’re all unique, and we should celebrate that – nobody should have to apologize for living how they want to live their lives. Not everybody fits into the neat roles of mother, successful career woman (despite “leaning in”), wife, girlfriend, business owner, father, husband, whatever – why can’t we just be US?
We should all be accepted for who we are, right now, not for some future ideal. Living is happening as I write this, as you read it. So enjoy your 4th – here are 10 reasons to celebrate, no matter where you are in life:
10. The ocean never ceases to amaze
9. Orange is the New Black. Can’t get enough…
7. Long brunches with friends
6. Your friend who never catches auto-correct
5. Having that friend/ family member/ BF you can call at midnight when you need him/ her
4. A good cocktail (or an amazing dessert—like flourless chocolate cake)
3. Sunsets
2. Sunrises
1. Ummm….fireworks!!
Happy Independence Day!!

Life is all about appreciating the small things! Thanks for the reminder to look for things to celebrate in every single day, not just Independence Day!

I just started watching “Orange is the New Black” last week. I’m only five episodes in, so I’m still reserving judgment on the show, but it’s pretty good so far. I’m spending my 4th in New Orleans attending my lady’s family reunion. We’ll see how that goes! LOL! Happy 4th!
