Kelly Seal is a writer, award-winning dating blogger and author of the new book Date Expectations: A Guide to Changing Your Dating Life and Finding Real Love.
It all began when she and a friend started hosting speed dating events hoping to meet some eligible bachelors. The more guys they could meet the better!
But they found it wasn’t quite so simple as weeding through all the wrong guys to eventually find the right one. In fact, it made dating a chore.
She knew there had to be a better way. Putting her Anthropology degree to work (for once since graduation), Kelly started carefully observing countless numbers of dates, from cringe-worthy to successful. She pieced together what worked – and what didn’t – to understand how to turn people’s dating lives around. (Including her own.) Eventually she started writing dating advice in her blog Notes From the Dating Trenches, with the goal of helping frustrated single men and women navigate the often fickle world of dating.
Kelly’s passion is helping people move forward into fulfilling relationships, no matter what stage they are in their lives – recent college grads looking to meet more people, women and men with successful careers looking for a committed relationship, or divorced singles looking for a second (or third!) chance at love.
Her musings can be seen on Slate, The Huffington Post, eHarmony Advice, Yahoo! Shine, Cupid’s Pulse and YourTango among many others. She’s a regular contributor to Examiner, Digital Romance, Singles Warehouse and Dating Sites Reviews.
Kelly is a native of Houston, Texas now living in Los Angeles.
